My name is Matthew, a Minneapolis-based designer originally from a turkey farm in Nebraska. From this upbringing, I learned a strong work ethic and the ability to problem-solve. For ten years, I worked as a coffee professional, holding positions as a barista, production assistant, roaster, competitor, and consultant. But as I grew, so did his interest in art and design, and decided to pivot toward those. In the Fall of 2020, I got accepted into the Graphic Design program at the College of Design at the University of Minnesota.

My design practice revolves around functionality that has character. To me, this means using strong grid systems, legible yet exciting typography, and using colors that are timeless. My main area of design is publication and packaging, but I love exploring and growing outside of those realms.
